Privacy notice
This notice covers this page and the Ownkin email list, both run by Vetru. The email signup on this page is closed; this notice still covers the details of people who signed up earlier.
What we collect
For people who joined the email list, we store your email address, the time you gave consent, your answer to “how do you want Ownkin?” and, if you pick one, “what matters most to you?”, the country you live in if you choose one from the list, that you confirmed you’re 18 or over, whether you ticked the optional setup-pilot box, and a short label for the link you arrived from: the plain page, our X posts, an X ad, or a Reddit post or ad, plus which of our three short videos and which numbered post it was attached to, if any. The label comes only from the link itself; nothing is stored in your browser. The country is only what you select; we never work it out from your IP address, your device, your browser’s language or time zone, or location services, and leaving it on “Prefer not to say” stores no country. We don’t ask for your name or anything else.
Why we collect it
To email you about Ownkin product and launch updates, and about a paid setup pilot only if you ticked that separate box. Also, as counts only, to learn which links bring people, what kind of help they want, and which countries people who chose to say live in.
Where it’s kept
On server-side hosting managed for Vetru. When we email you, your address and the message go through our email delivery provider, which is based in the US and handles them only to deliver our emails. We don’t sell your email address or share it for anyone else’s marketing.
Spam prevention
We use a rotating network identifier to limit repeated signups. It expires after about 24 hours and is cleaned up on subsequent submissions. We do not store your raw IP address in the email list database.
Anonymous page counts
To see which steps people get stuck on, the page adds one to a daily counter when it loads, when a purchase link is clicked, when each part of the page first comes into view, and when a check fails (only the kind of check, like “consent box not ticked”). Each counter holds only the day, the step (for a view, which part of the page), and the link labels above. It never includes your email, anything you type, the page address, an IP address, or any visitor or session ID, so the counts can’t be tied to you or to each other. Counters are deleted after about 13 months. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is counted.
Cookies and tracking
This page uses no third-party analytics, no tracking cookies, and no third-party scripts. It doesn’t load fonts or images from anywhere else. The only thing it ever keeps in a browser is a test marker that we set on our own test browsers from our admin page, so our testing is counted apart from visitors.
Our emails
Every email says why you’re getting it and has a link to unsubscribe in one step. Our emails have no tracking pixels or tracked links. If an email to your address bounces permanently or is reported as spam, we keep a one-way fingerprint of the address (not the address itself) so we never email it again.
How long we keep it
Only while it’s needed for Ownkin updates, or until you ask us to remove it.
Removing your email
Use the unsubscribe link in any of our emails to stop them. To remove your entry completely, reply to one of our emails or write to [email protected] from the address you used, or send a direct message to @OwnkinAI on X with that address. Please don’t post your email in a public reply.
About Ownkin
Ownkin is a self-hosted AI companion. Ownkin and Vetru are independent and not affiliated with Anthropic.
Changes to this notice
If the way we handle email-list emails changes, we’ll update this notice on this page. The email signup on this page closed on 25 October 2026. People who signed up keep the consent they gave and can unsubscribe or ask for removal as described above.
